My only negative thought I have is when we picked up the car the associate was very pleasant and doing her job well. The pressure she must feel to sell the upgrades and all the other add-ons must be drilled into the associates. If a customer is satisfied with the size of the vehicle they are renting, then let it be. Don't continue to ask in several different ways, just be satisfied that the customer is standing at the Alamo desk.
Reserved a Ford Mustang convertible. No Mustangs were available so we were offered a BMW 4 series convertible and we accepted. The BMW is a hard top convertible so at first glance it does not look like a convertible. We loved the BMW and as a bonus it was at the same price we booked for the Mustang. Check out was quick and easy as was the return. The Alamo team at Fort Myers airport is friendly, efficient and professional. We find Alamo’s prices to be very competitive as compared to the other rental car companies. Well done, Alamo.
Everyone is very friendly and helpful, and I would use Alamo again, but I'll pay closer attention next time I choose my vehicle.
Alamo in Fort Myers is wonderful. Have used them for years. Cant count how many free upgrades i have received. The drop off process is fantastic. Takes 2-3 minutes for drop off...no exaggeration. Good price-Good service. I do not usually review businesses, but Alamo truly deserves it.
The car was clean and comfortable. Service was good at the counter and excellent getting the vehicle. I was VERY DISAPPOINTED in having to pay $12.99 PER DAY for my wife to drive the car too. Unlike other extras such as a child seat or GPS, Alamo incurred no additional cost or provided any service by charging me $200 over the course of this rental for a second driver. Hertz did not charge a dime for this service on a recent rental. All this and I'm and "Insider" too. If you REALLY want to make things right and keep me as a customer, you can stop charging for a 2nd driver and refund me this charge.
When I got home to Illinois, I looked at my bill, and it read that I reserved a standard SUV, but drove a compact SUV. No one pointed that out. I called Alamo and they are giving me a $60 discount on my $600 bill. I have no idea if that is the correct amount that I should have paid for a smaller SUV, and I certainly could have used the bigger SUV. I am very disappointed that they not only directed me to the wrong sized car, they didn't correct the charge when I turned it in.
I absolutely loved the "skip the counter" experience. Our flight was two hours late, not arriving until almost 1am. I was worried that it might close, but they wait for those late flights to come in. It could not have been easier or faster! And, I love that you can browse the lot and choose the car you want. Unfortunately, at 1 am, the pickings were slim, and the attendant recommended a small Chevy SUV that was just "ok". I was surprised by how small it was, but tired and glad to head to Marco.
