10 years ago I was rear ended by a garbage truck and and my neck was completely broken at C 3/4. When I arrived at the trauma center, I was mostly paralyzed from the neck down. Dr. Henn operated on me twice with front and back fusions/hardware. The surgery was extremely difficult because of the type of injury. I later learned that a large percentage of people with my type injury die or become totally paralyzed. I ended up with an incomplete (partial) spinal cord injury, but I can walk, etc. I'm convinced that this result comes from Dr. Henn's efforts. My appreciation is reflected by the fact that 10 years later I still periodically check up on him.
I am an active 63 year old working RN who had severe pain lower buttocks down the back of my legs and had difficulty walking any distance or with any activity. Also low back pain that was only relieved by bending over. Put up with this pain 4 or 5 years and it just kept getting worse til I could no longer stand up straight and was really struggling. I had Dr. Jeff Henn and he did an open laminectomy on me at L4-L5 with a coflex device. I went home the same day. At 3 weeks had follow-up appt. and all is good. Because of my strenuous job I have a 30 lb weight limit until 11/28 which I will be allowed to go back to work with no restrictions. Let me tell ya as soon as I woke up from the surgery the PAIN in my buttocks and down legs was GONE. I could walk right away even though I had incisional pain it wasn't as bad as the pain before and have improved every single day. This man gave me my LIFE back. I can't say enough good about him. If you are having issues he should be your first and only choice for a neurosurgeon in my opinion. If you are contemplating this surgery and have it bad like I did it is a no brainer. Get it DONE. You will be thrilled that you did. I can now walk as far as I want thanks to him and stand up straight.
