I have been on pharmacological opiate pain management for awhile for a serious and very painful condition. My usual pharmacy who had a prescription on file for me called and told me that they had run out of my medicine and could not get any until over the weekend so I had to find another pharmacy to fill it. I had seen San Carlos Pharmacy when I was in the plaza for something else and thought I would call them.
In this day and age, it is great to have a local business like San Carlos Pharmacy. They have been helpful, flexible, and genuinely friendly EVERY time I've patronized this business. I highly recommend that you stop in and check them out.
I have been getting my prescriptions filled at this pharmacy for a while now and I would recommend this pharmacy to anybody. The staff is very friendly. They were able to answer any of my questions and the pharmacist also suggested other medications that would be helpful to use with my already prescribed medication. Example is a prescribed topical gel that I can use on my neck which is my problem area. I then suggested it to my doctor and my doctor agreed and now I use that along with my other prescribe medications. It turned out to be very helpful. The wait time has always been 30 minutes or less. They accept many different types of insurance including mine. This pharmacy is different then the typical run-of-the-mill big-name pharmacies. They are very personable and I will continue using them as long as I have to take the medications I am prescribed.
This is the BEST pharmacy. Every time I go in to this establishment they are able to help me with everything! Support local business!
When I called I asked them if they had this medicine in stock I was told that they could not tell me over the phone and that I would have to come down in person before they would tell me if it was in stock or not! I thought this very weird but I said, "OK" and went there and gave them the prescription. They asked me what other medications I was on, (they can easily find this on the computer as all pharmacies are connected now), they asked me if I ever used any creams or other methods of dealing with pain and what was the condition I was using this medicine for. It was very curious that they would ask me all of these questions and it became very obvious after a short period that they were treating me like a common drug addict. Then I sat for 20 minutes and after which they came out and said they would not fill my prescription. They had the medication but they would not fill my prescription.
This behavior is entirely unacceptable. People have legitimate pain and no pharmacist has a right to make judgements about that person. Pharmacists are not doctors. In fact my prescription was written by a well respected doctor in this area. They could have called my regular pharmacy if they had questions but they didn't. They made me drive down there and wait for all that time when it was completely unnecessary. I felt humiliated and mad with the treatment I was given at this place and I will never set foot in it again.
The staff is amazing! As soon as you walk in the door they great you by name. I Have never experienced such a friendly and personal pharmacy.. to top if off their prices are unbeatable!! Highly highly recommend them!!
